Along with retirement, a little too much ‘free-time’ can become a little boring.
So, I retired last year (2023).
During this time, there’s been a H U G E move from NSW to Western Australia. We found a home we liked, bought it (around August 2023), then looked at selling our old home, which happened late November / early December (2023).
I drove across from NSW, with the Mrs flying across in December. The drive took me 5 1/2 days, but looking back, I wish I’d taken a month to do it – it’s such a beautiful drive.
During January (2024), I had to have a blood test, which resulted in me finding out my Iron level was around 20% of what it should have been. A few weeks later, I had an endoscopy and colonoscopy – with the colonoscopy finding a 3.5cm cancer growing in my bowel. March 6, I had surgery to remove the cancer and have since been told (March 25, 2024) I’m now cancer-free.
There was another major traumatic event that happened earlier this year, but I’m electing to not discuss that here, out of respect.
I have a few days ‘to myself’ now, and have chosen to use those days in a more productive manner, so I’m back, working on eCommerce and Website Security for WordPress websites – 3 Days Per Week.
My rate is still as it was when I was in NSW, $121 Per Hour.
